Windows 10: Convert Contacts file to .VCF

    Windows 10 has a routine to make this conversion but it does not appear to work.

    then
    2. Import csv
    3. Export to vcf
    4. Enjoy

    This same routine comes up in Windows 10 but it doesn't work for me and Outlook 2016.

    I get to point 3 "Export to vcf" and choose vcf. The system then jumps to a report saying that the file has been converted and put in the location I chose. The problem is that it has not given me a chance to choose a location and secondly even a wildcard search for *.vcf cannot find it.

    My conclusion is that the csv file has not been reformatted.I would appreciate any help, thank you.

    Error Exporting windows contact to vcf file

    Hi Kamesh,

    I first imported the names and mobile numbers from a CSV file by following the below steps.

    1. Search--> Contacts--> Import --> Choose the CSV file; this will convert the CSV file to windows contact format.

    2. Contacts-->export--> VCF --> will convert the windows contact to VCF file. This step gives an error message "Error Exporting contacts".

    Can I import contacts from csv file on my nokia c6-01 ?

    Install .csv to .vcf converter (Google for it ...) . Also Install Nokia Suite on your PC .

    Using the converter, convert .csv files to .vcf...

    Connect the phone to PC and open Nokia Suite-->Contacts-->File-->Import Contacts.. select the converted files...Now all these contacts should be visible in the Nokia Suite.. Select all and Drag-and-Drop on to the Phone Icon at the bottom in the Nokia Suite..
    The Contacts should now get stored in the Phone ...

    Just try simply searching 'vcf' instead of '*.vcf'

    That search failed too but the routine seemed different, it was more responsive than before so perhaps there has been an upgrade since I last tried.
    Too tired now so I will try again tomorrow.

    I tried this routine again and apart from being a bit clunky in the process of producing a .csv (Excel) file from my Outlook 2016 contacts it worked very well.

    VCF files were produced from Excel and I should be able to load them into other devices.

    It would be nice if Microsoft listed the conversion routine so it is more easily found. It does not show up in any help file that I have seen. Microsoft's Windows 10 helper CORTANA doesn't seem to have heard of it.

    Perhaps they could refine the clunky csv creation process in the meantime.
