    Greetings -- I have a home-built PC, now about two years old, that runs both Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Professional in a dual boot configuration. When I placed this PC into service, it was essentially a hybrid of new hardware motherboard, Ryzen APU, RAM sticks, case and cooling devices, as well as hardware carried forward from the previous PC system hard drive, keyboard, mouse, monitor, wifi adapter. I have since upgraded most of the older stuff as well, most importantly the system drive from a hard drive to a NVME SSD. The system that I ported from the older PC to the new one us

    Convert Windows 10 MBR to GPT (UEFI)?

    In reviewing my Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) system I noted that the Secure Boot Status is showing as "unsupported". Investigating further, it appears either the GPT partition for booting using UEFI (is Secure Boot) has become corrupt or my installation was
    never installed for Secure Boot. My Windows 10 install is an auto-upgrade from a Windows 8.1 install.

    Is there a way to convert the MBR to GPT without doing a fresh install? I do have a USB recovery drive built at a point I believe I had indications Windows was booting from a GPT (UEFI) partition. In fact, the USB recovery drive shows as being a UEFI drive.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated!

    I don't think mbr2gpt works on dual boot systems where there are 2 OS partitions on the same drive. Quoted from the tutorial, "If you dual boot Windows 10 with any other operating system, then do not use this tutorial. This tutorial is only meant for a standalone Windows 10 installation on a PC."

    When attempting to convert my 500 gb Western digital Black from Win 10 version 1909 MBR to UEFI using Microsoft's recommended procedure I keep getting, during validation attempts, the error message that the disk cannot be validated for conversion, and
    file size is 512 bytes. MBR is on the disk, and Crystal Disk reports no disk problems. Any suggestions?
