Windows 10: Coolpix b500 not recognized as camera

so im trying to use my coolpix b500 camera as a webcam. i couldnt find any of the cables so i ordered the a/v out cable it said it would be able to run the camera while plugged in but my pc isnt picking it up as a webcam at all. not sure where to go from here or if i have the wrong cable there is still the DC in slot and the hdmi slot unused maybe i ordered the wrong cable. thanks for reading and taking the time to help.

Windows 10 does not recognize my Nikon Coolpix S3500 camera. Any suggestions on how to get it to work? It worked fine with Windows 7.

If your camera was not recognized by your Windows 10 computer, we suggest performing the steps below and see if it makes any difference:

• Remove memory card and insert it into a computer. (If you have a card reader.) Putting the memory card directly into the computer bypasses any problems that may exist between the camera/computer connection.
• Unplug and Plug the cable back in carefully to ensure a good connection.
• You may check the device status in Device Manager. ( Press
  Windows key + X and select Device Manager. Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers and check the status of your camera.
  )
• If that didn't help you may need specific camera software. Check the official Nikon website to find out more about the most recent Coolpix software.
