Windows 10: Copied 2TB data from an ntfs drive to a exfat drive, the data become 3.5tb!

Hello, I wanted to migrate my data from ntfs to exfat, I bought a new hard drive and copied everything in the old ntfs drive to the new exfat one. Unfortunately, the data in the drive almost doubled when I did that. Why did that happen and how can I fix that?

Is that drive a 2TB USB Flash Drive?

If it is, where did you purchase that flash drive from and roughly how much did that cost?

There are many fake 2TB Flash drives being sold on the Internet, they are actually 8GB flash drives with the file table hacked to appear as a 2TB drive, and while you can copy lots of data to the drive, in reality only the first 8GB of data is copied to the drive.

What is the Make and exact Model No. of that flash drive?

 

Just moved all of my data to a 2TB HDD...

Hello everyone, I just recently purchased a Seagate 2TB HDD 7200.14 with 64MB Cache.

My old 500GB consists of 2 partitions, mainly the windows 7 (Drive C, 100GB) and secondly the data (Drive D, 400GB) (games, music, etcs)

Here's what I did:
0. Initialised the 2TB HDD, Low level reformatted to NTFS and using MBR. 2TB is in drive Z.
1. Copied the 400GB to drive Z, using teracopy.
2. Reformat my 400GB
3. Delete the 400GB volume in the 500GB
4. Extend the 100GB using Disk management in windows to occupy the full 500 GB
5. Changed drive Z to D. Everything still worked!!!

Is that fine? I hope it will not damage the 500GB hard drive since I copied all my 400GB to the newly bought 2TB HDD... hehehe

 

Upgrading my data drive HDD

I’m upgrading my 2tb data drive to a 10tb seagate HDD the 2tb data drive already reads it as data not boot drive if I format my data drive will that mess up my whole system? Windows is installed on my boot drive with all other windows programs the only data I have on my data drive is iTunes and steam and windows games. Once I formet my data drive and install the new one will it read automatically as a data drive or will I have to reset everything. I’m a noob to all this drive setup stuff so basically I don’t know wtf I am doing. But I know my way around it.
