Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.

So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

I understand your concern. Let me help you to fix the issue.

Let’s try simple steps and check if this helps. I suggest you to copy all the pictures in libraries picture folder.

Open files explorer and click on the Picture folder.

Now copy all your favorite picture to the picture folder.

Introducing Collections support for web captures in Microsoft Edge

Hello Edge Insiders,

Many of you have been using the web capture tool for taking notes on the web content using ink. But once you are done marking up the web content, the only option available to save the content is to save it as a file on your machine. It is also difficult to access those files later, especially on other devices you may be using. Collections is already a productivity driver for a lot of users, and it was the natural home for users to save their web captures as well. Hence, we are very happy to announce that we are enabling users to add web captures to Collections. With this, you can add your marked-up web captures to collections and visit them at a later point in time, across all your devices.

Here is how this feature works –

Today you can use the web capture tool in Edge to capture and markup web content. Details of how to use web capture can found in this post. Once you have captured the web content and are on the dialog box which allows you to preview your capture and markup with ink, you will see a new option in the toolbar – Add to collections. You can find the existing Copy and Share options in the ‘…’ menu next to this new option.

Clicking on this new option would show you a list of collections you already have, and you can choose to add the capture to any of the existing collections. You can also choose to start a new collection from this menu itself. In case you choose the Start new collection option, your capture will be added to a new collection. You will see a confirmation toast once the capture gets added to the selected collection successfully.

Once added, you can see the capture in your collection as a new card. You can click on the card at any point in time to open and view it.

By clicking on the card from the collections pane, you can open the web capture for viewing as shown below:

On this viewing experience for your captures, you will see the options to Share, Copy and Save the capture. There is also an option to Open source website in case you need to refer to the webpage where the capture was taken from. Save and Open source website options can be found under the ‘…’ menu.

If you are already a web capture user, please try out this experience and let us know what you think. If you are not a user, try taking a few captures using the web capture option, use the functionality to add to Collections, and let us know how it works for you.
