So, I woke up this morning to copilot on my laptop. Mostly because I forgot to reset the timer on forced update yesterday. Why is it we cannot turn off updates anymore? We can only postpone? Is this your solution to the plebs not knowing better and you know what is good for us? Second, why is it 90% of the time your answers about your own operating system do not work? I followed the suggested disable this **** I didnt want in the first place, and is not necessary for the operation of my computer, and I get back the comment, "Access Denied." I am the only user on this computer, I am the admin o

None of the methods to disable Copilot work, can't even hide it

The reg files do nothing. Copilot is not in the list of things you can turn on or off with the policy editor.

Group Policy Editor Link for W11 installation

Run as Administrator and allow to install

NB: MUST SELECT ENABLE first AS THIS ALLOWS APP TO TURN OFF THE PROGRAM

Open Local Group Policy Editor from the Windows search - type Gpedit.msc in the Run command and click icon

Navigate to the following folder in the Group Policy Editor window using the left panel:User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Copilot

On the right-side pane, double-click the 'Turn off Windows Copilot' policy.

Select 'Enabled' and click 'Apply' and then 'OK'. This allows the app to disable CoPilot

Click 'Disabled' then Apply to turn off CoPilot

To re-enable Windows Copilot, follow the same steps and select 'Not configured' or 'Disabled'. Then, click 'Apply' and 'OK'.

If the Copilot button is visible in the taskbar, it will disappear after you apply the policy. You do not need to restart your computer or enforce the Group Policies. The Copilot option will also disappear from the Settings app.
