Windows 10: Copilot button just opens Edge

When I make any modification to the Environment Variables it breaks my Copilot – Copilot button will just open Edge.Firstly it happened to me when I was cleaning Path files from pyenv and Python, when I reinstalled Python back, the behaviour was still same. I reverted changes using System restore and it broke up again after reinstalling VS Code which added itself to Path.Windows 11 22H2 22621.3085

I apologize for the late response and regret to hear that the Copilot button is still unresponsive. Please try the steps below:

- Press Windows key + R to open the Run box.

- Enter microsoft-edge://?ux=copilot&tcp=1&source=taskbar and press Enter to open the Copilot pane.

- If the Copilot pane opens, click the Copilot button to check functionality.

- If Copilot doesn't open, reset Microsoft Edge settings:

a. Open Edge, click three dots in the top right.

b. Go to Settings and click Reset Settings.

- Restart your computer and test if the Copilot button works as expected.

Why isn’t copilot button working

I've tried everything you suggested but the Copilot button is still not responding. This issue started to occur after I installed the update Build 23601 and opened and closed the copilot pane a few times. (After installing the update Copilot is working but after using copilot a few times it stopped opening.) Also, there is no Copilot task in the task manager, just a "Microsoft Edge Copilot pane renderer." I closed that task, and after clicking on the Copilot button again, the task does not reappear.

I performed several experiments I neither of them were successfull - I tried to press Copilot button as soon as Windows launched, I tried to remove all programs from autolaunch list, I tried to kill them, when they are already launched - and I still could not understand, why sometimes Copilot opens, and sometimes doesn't.

It can be the day, that I have all my programs launched and waiting for me in tray (and I have about 30 of them) and Copilot launches and works successfully, and sometimes when I just enter Windows, and have no any program launched, and I press Copilot button - and it opens Edge browser.

Any other suggestions?
