  2. Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:
    • Open WinRAR application in your system.
    • Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
    • A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
    • Now click Open button.
    • Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
    • Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
    • Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
    • Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
    • WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.
I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

    Thanks.

  3. File corruption when copying large files

    Hello,

I'm experiencing a problem with Windows 10 where I get corrupt backup files if I copy and paste them from one connected external hard drive to another, and the transfer rate is too fast. These files are very large, tending to range in size from 20 GB to 100 GB. Whenever I do a backup, I hash every source file and every copy, and then compare the hashes, so that it is crystal clear as to whether the files have been copied accurately.

In general, I find corruption of backups in the transfer to be a common event, and it is something that happens without warning. Thus my backup plans only serve my needs if they have a hash comparison step.

By using a Dell dock to transfer files from one hard drive to another, I was seeing a transfer speed somewhat above 100 MB/s. This was occasionally dropping to zero and then returning to a range of 70-100 MB/s. The drops to zero happened repeatedly. When the job was done, I detected that more than half of the copied files were corrupt. They didn't have the same hashes as their sources.

I slowed the transfer speed down to about 35 MB/s by connecting one hard drive to the dock, and another hard drive directly to the computer. (Previously, both of the drives were connected to the dock, and the transfer speed was near 100 MB/s that way.)

When I was running the slower transfer, I didn't see the transfer speed drop to zero. I also didn't have corrupt backups after this was finished. Does Windows 10 lose track of the latest file position copied if the hard drive controller pushes back and interrupts the transfer because its buffer is too full? Somehow it seems like an operating system bug to me. I know that a whole host of other possible equipment failures could be at play (bad RAM, bad hard drive, etcetera). But this happened with two different receiving hard drives that were manufactured years apart, one being mechanical and the other being solid-state. My PC passed a RAM test. I'm sensing that this stems from the interruptions in copying, with the operating system losing its place in the files.

Copy files to SSD of large size corrupted after a while

    Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one
