  1. Copy game install from Microsoft Store to another PC

Hi, I purchased Forza Horizon 4 from the Microsoft Store.

I can only access the internet by tethering with my phone.

So I downloaded the game to my laptop using Hotel/Cafe Wifi; it took me about a month.

The first time I downloaded it failed and the only fix to was to download again, so this took me another month.

Now I would like to install the same game on my Desktop, and ideally I'd like to transfer the game files from my laptop to my desktop, by downloading as little data as possible.

I have a wired gigabit switch I could use to network the two computers if necessary; otherwise if I can just copy the files on to a disk if that's possible and then verify the files/ownership via the Store using my phone data when tethered to the desktop.

So I'm hoping there is a way I can do this? Any help is most welcome :-

    :)

  2. [HELP] Copy Microsoft Store Game (Sea of Thieves) to another PC with Delivery Optimisation

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I have checked this for you. Copying files between PC’s from one PC’s to another might affect the functionality of the application/game because the registry keys are generated for that game to cooperate with the current system and its hardware/software/firmware.
Hence you may face issues running the game once the process is complete. However you may try the steps below and check if it works for you.

    1. Access the device on which you have installed game on it.
    2. Locate the folder C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. If you’re not able to find, enable Viewing hidden files and you must have administrative rights to access the contents of this folder.
    3. Look for the folder the game’s files reside in. It should look like

      C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\NameOfTheGame
    4. Copy the folder to the PC you want to move the game to. Copy it to your desktop or to a drive that isn’t the OS drive.
    5. Open the Microsoft store on the device which you wanted to install and look for the game.
    6. Click the download button and allow the game to download. Pause it shortly after it starts and close the Windows store app.
    7. Go to “C:\Program Files\WindowsApps” where the Windows Store app will have created a dedicated folder for the app. Delete it. Copy the folder you brought over from your other PC to “C:\Program Files\WindowsApps”.
    8. Open the Windows Store app again and resume the download. The game will begin to install.

  3. Re-Installing the Microsoft Store

    Hi Wisedred,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In this scenario we would suggest you to perform these steps to Reinstall and Re-Register all Windows apps for all accounts.

    1. Press Windows + X key and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    2. Copy and paste this command, then press enter:
      Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
    3. Close the PowerShell command and restart the PC.
    4. Open Microsoft Store and install the game.

If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check if you are able to open Microsoft Store and then install the game, refer this article to

  4. Copy game install from Microsoft Store to another PC

    Minecraft installation in Microsoft store

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern as you are unable to install Minecraft in Microsoft Store. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

    • What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
      winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • Do you have any non-Microsoft antivirus program installed?
    • Does this issue occur for all games & apps from the store?
    • What is the date and time on the PC and ensure it is correct?
    • Do you get any error message or code?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps and after every step check if you are able to install the game.

Step 1: Reset the Windows Store Cache: Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the
Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.

    Note:
A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

Step 2: Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter: Select the
Start button, and then select Settings>Update & Security
    > Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.

Step 3: If you have any non-Microsoft security/antivirus software installed, disable it temporarily and then try installing the game.

Step 4: If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to
