Windows 10: Copy,Paste won't work on 2 step verify for MS-hotmail Acct. login

I do the User name, Password, chose which 2nd step verification (phone text, or send code to one of two connected email accounts {yahoo/Gmail}) using either of the emails I used to be able to just copy from the code sent to the email and paste into the "enter code sent" box I'm trying to log into on the 2nd step process, but right clicking w/mouse does not offer "paste" option.
Anyone please explain why?*sarc

How to Sync Outlook 2010 Calendar and Contacts with Windows 8 HTX 8X Phone?

I figured it out and now have a bigger question of how to clean up a mess that I created over time.

I have two MS accounts.

1. I had an old Live account from a couple of years ago. My login was a personal email and not a @live.com logon.

2. A new Hotmail account from a few days ago.

I did not remember that I had the Live account when I created the Hotmail MS Account a few days ago.

Once I realized that I had an old account, I started using it instead of my new Hotmail Acct. My WP8 phone is logged in through my old Live MS account and not my new Hotmail MS account.

My sync problems were a result of my adding an account using my Hotmail Account instead of my old Account. As I said, my phone is connected through my new MS Hotmail Acct.

Once I realized the problem, I added a new acct to my OL with my old Live Login, synced and wellah now everything matches OL<->Online <->WP8.

To add to my problems, I added a new @outlook.com alias under my old Live Acct.

Now I need to figure out how to clean the mess up and consolidate everything into one account. I sent myself an email from the old Live MS Account and my from email address comes across as

What I would like to do is:

1. Consolidate to one account: Either my new hotmail or create a new Outlook.com acct.

2. Merge or copy all of my calendar and contact items from my old Live Acct into either my new Hotmail or outlook.com account.

3. And change my WP8 MS Account to either my new hotmail or outlook.com acct.

4. Associate my new outlook.com alias to my new hotmail or outlook.com MS accounts.

And not but not least do this without completely losing all of my work on contacts or calendar.

Is there a way to transfer calender & contacts from one MS account to another?

Suggestions?

Cannot log into account after Windows 10 upgrade

Recently, MS downloaded and installed Windows 10 to my Acer laptop. All appeared to go well. MS asked for, and rec'd from me, login information to a Windows acct. I used a Hotmail acct that I have had for years. I preferred to use my local acct, and was
given that option to change to. I keyed in the Windows password that I have used for local access successfully for years. Upon logging out, and then back in, the local account password doesn't work. I can't seem to get back to the MS account login so that
I can make the appropriate changes and attempt to reset the local password. Suggestions please...

No idea. It's probably a security mechanism to discourage bots.

 

Did you try CTRL+V for pasting? (CTRL+C for copying).

Why? Because right-clicking was disabled on the page.

Easy, it's because the Webmaster decided so. Ask her/him....

 

I kind of forgot I had installed on Firefox an extension that might suit your needs. It's just got updated today.

It's called Enable Right Click and Copy.

 

Thanx for the update but I'm not ready to switch to Firefox though I might if I keep having issues w/google chrome, however that's another can of worms I'm opposed to, all these band aid fixes "AYAE" "Add Yet Another Extension" and wait to see what problems the new extension causes. Reminds me of Microsoft's typical response to repeated problems. Now I'm very very strongly considering Linux, just need to make up my mind on which Flavor of Ubuntu to use. First I will try Firefox for a while, just don't have the patience right now to go through the familiarity curve. Thanx for the info.

Actually I found it originally belongs to Mark Twain of all people, hmph? They were both great comedians using comedy to protest truth in our faces even if we didn't like it.

 

I have noticed that this does not work on some websites.

 

@Josey Wales: Are you referring to the FF extension? I only used it twice, that's why I forgot about it until it got updated.

You might also use a password manager (extensions as well), which allows autotype, like Keepass.
It is a very stupid feature though, it prevents people from creating secure passwords, even paypal.
