Windows 10: Copy Windows 10 Pro to my new computer

I operate Windows 10 Pro through Boot Camp on my MacBook Pro. I have just purchased a new Mac desktop and want to copy Windows 10 Pro to the new computer for use within Boot Camp as well. My MacBook has a digital key not a product key. I also have both computers running through THE same Microsoft account. I have already downloaded a copy of Windows 10 Home but cannot activate it.

What steps are need to copy the Windows 10 Pro from my MacBook Pro onto my new Mac desktop computer?

Do I need to remove the Home version I installed on the new Mac and then retry copying the Pro version that's running on my MacBook?

SORRY FOR THE LENGTHY QUESTIONS.

Very frustrated so any help is greatly appreciated.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Home will be $119, Pro $199.

Microsoft: Windows 10 Home costs $119, Pro costs $199



Which is good news actually, because Windows 8.1 is loads cheaper than previous versions (retail licensing at Windows 7 OEM prices). And it sort of puts a huge hole in the Windows subscription theory.

 

New Computer: Upgrading from Windows 10 Home to Pro

Mom is getting a new computer. Although the computer will have Windows 10 Home preinstalled, we want the Pro version.

Are the steps correct to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro?

• Click Start > Settings > Update & security > Activation > Go to store > make your purchase, follow the on screen instructions and within 5 to 10 minutes you will be upgraded to Windows 10 Pro.

We are in Canada. I am guessing that the upgrade price is close to US$100 converted to Canadian dollars?
