Windows 10: Copying a program disk to a thumb drive.

I have a new desktop computer and I'm in the process of setting it up. For over 20 years I've used Lotus to keep track financial data and wish to continue using it. The Lotus SmartSuite library of programs is on a DVD and the new pc doesn't have a DVD drive. I should be able to copy the Lotus library to a USB device; however, in searching the internet I could not find a clear discussion on how to do that. They talk about it but then, when digging deeper, the discussions are about copying music and video files. I'm looking for a clear on the steps involved in copying this program DVD to ei

How to copy a DVD program onto a thumb drive?

I have a DVD that contains medical records, specifically an MRI that contains a special program to view the MRI images. I need to transfer this to a thumb drive, because the hospital no longer has DVD drives. A simple copy and paste doesn't work, of course, because the files are protected. Also, the usual VLC DVD rip doesn't work, since it's not a DVD video. How do I copy the program files over to a thumb drive while maintaining that the program works properly? Thanks!

Copying music files to a thumb drive

Thank you for responding, it was a clear answer that is helping solve my desire to move music files to a thumb drive.

The music I want to move, was downloaded from Google music play. I now believe that their music is on my MS Surface book 2., but the files are not view able by the subscriber, me.

I presume it is necessary to use music from a streaming source, that is music that has been paid for, and is in a file format that can be copied or moved. If you can confirm this for me I would appreciate it a great deal!
