Windows 10: Copying and Pasting from Photos to a Windows Explorer folder?

When viewing pictures in Photos the stock editing app that comes with Microsoft, I have always been able to copy the picture I have open and then paste it into a Windows Explorer folder. It looks like the app updated recently view is a bit different and now...even though I right click and choose copy...and then paste into the folder...it is not working. When I right click in the folder, "Paste" isn't even highlighted as a choice. This makes pulling pictures from my CD very challenging and additional steps. Is there a setting I can change so copying and pasting from Photos to a folder

  Open the photo folder location, right click on the photo and select Copy from the drop down.
  
• Now go to the folder location where you wanted to paste the photo, right click on the on the blank space and Select paste from the drop down.

Windows Explorer Copy and Paste problems

The copy/paste problem could be due to Windows Explorer issue or faulty keyboard.

Wewould like to know some information to better isolate the problem:

• Is the issue also happening when trying to copy/paste any Office files, or is it only happening in Windows Explorer?
• Have you tried other ways like; right-click + Copy, then right-click + Paste?
  
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Copy/Paste not working in File Explorer (Photo viewer)

Hello all,

I am running Windows 11 home and have installed all updates (as of 28-Jun-2023).

I am going through photos to select which ones I want to pull out to edit. Normally, I do this by going through photos in the photo viewer and when I come across a photo I want to pull out, I Ctrl+C, go to my separate folder for edits, and Ctrl+V in that new folder. I have used this method many times on this current PC with no trouble whatsoever. However, today it is malfunctioning. Copy and paste is working fine overall; I can copy/paste text without issue and can do the same with photos, except in one, very specific scenario. When I Ctrl+C in the photo viewer, I get the little bubble in the bottom center of the screen that says "Copied to clipboard." I can successfully paste the photo anywhere I want (e.g. an email or word document), but I **specifically** cannot paste it into a File Explorer folder. Interestingly, if I select two photos while in the viewer mode (using the check marks in the photo scroll panel across the bottom), I get the popup bubble "Copied 2 items to clipboard" and it works as it should, I can paste them anywhere, including into a folder. Normally I would let this go and deal with the error, but I have 8,000 photos to go through, and the specific method I want to use will save me many, many hours of time.

Here is what I have tried with no success:

• Restarted the computer at least 10 times
  
• Restarted File Explorer from task manager
  
• Performed a clean boot
  
• Run sfc /scannow from Command Prompt
  
• Run rdpclip.exe and dwm.exe as administrator
