Windows 10: Copying data of an encrypted damaged external drive to another output drive through command...

Kindly demonstrate step by step, as how? a bitlocker encrypted, damaged with too many bad sector 3TB external Hard drive, can be backed up or copied fully through command line to output 4TB external hard drive. Kindly demonstrate step by step, with commands highlighted separately. I am using Windows 10, Dell latitude with 8GBRAM.

external drive and encryption?

This question is two-fold.

First I would like an external enclosure that is rugged and shock resistant (static electricity and the like, being winter and all) for a 3.5inch SATA drive.
Barring that, an external drive with the above. What would you guys recommend?

Also, I was wondering, is there a tool to encrypt the entire hard drive, but that does NOT ask to format said encrypted disk? I tried TrueCrypt, and last time I did, it asked me to format the drive because it was not recognized. I know there are alternatives, but I forgot their names. Price is of no concern if it is able to do so. any suggestions? Does Windows not show "drive must be formatted" on TrueCrypt drives anymore?

Best way would be if I plug in the drive, it asks for password automatically or something...

It is a good idea to use Bitlocker to protect hard drives. Please provide the following needed information:

1. How do you try to access the drive?

2. Do you get any pop-up message when trying to access the drive?

3. Is this an external hard drive?

You can turn off Bitlocker Drive Encryption by following these steps:

• 
  Login as Administrator to your PC.
  
• 
  Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• 
  From the BitLocker Drive Encryption page, find the volume on which you want BitLocker Drive Encryption turned off, and click
  Turn Off BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• 
  From the What level of decryption do you want dialog box, click either
  Disable BitLocker Drive Encryption or Decrypt the volume as needed.

Data Recovery from Bitlocker Encrypted Drive Fail

Hi friends,

I'm using Windows 10, Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363

I'm in a bit of a jam. Thanks to a faulty USB cable, my 8TB external hard-drive disconnected while decrypting the data. And so now it's not accepting my password, which I know is correct.

I get the first following error:

I bought another 8TB hard-drive, formatted it and executed:

repair-bde E: F: -pw –Force

This went to 100%, which some errors reading specific sectors (which the article outlined). But when I went to run chkdsk as recommended, I got the following error on the output drive (F:\)





I also get the following error when I attach the output drive from Windows:





When I get the disks in DISKPART, the corrupted drive seems to still have something on it, even though it went to completion with repair-bde.





I'm at a loss, my next step is ddrescue on Linux, but I'm not even sure that would work with a, presumably, still encrypted drive.

Any help would be greatly, greatly, appreciated. It's family photos, all that jazz, so I need to do everything I can to get it back.
