Windows 10: Copying Files from Windows 10 Hard Drive to new Windows 11 Computer

My old Windows 10 computer died suddenly and I bought a new Windows 11 computer to replace it. I want to transfer all of my data from the old hard drive to the new computer, but thus far have been unsuccessful. Here is what I have tried so far:I removed the old computer's hard drive and connected it to the new computer via USB cableI attempted to copy the entire "user" folder over "C:\Users\<username>" and it only partially worked. In some cases the directory structure was copied but none of the files were. When I tried to copy a specific file I get a permissions error which appears to b

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Replacing old hard drive, need way to copy Windows installation across

Hey Guys,
What would be the best way of copying/imaging the entire contents of an old system drive over to a replacement hard disk for the same machine? I need to copy the Windows installations and all other data to the new drive, and then format the old drive to use as a backup.

Reinstall Windows 10 to new hard drive

We want to know about the issue you're having with your recovery drive. Please answer the questions below:

• Are you trying to reinstall Windows 8 or Windows 10?
• If you already upgraded to Windows 10, were you able to create a new copy of the recovery drive?
