Windows 10: Copying from Photos app ignoring default resolution in Word

Hello!I have been having a back and forth regarding incredibly large .docx file sizes here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/copy-paste-photograph-into-word-ignores-default/3a0cc5e3-34ac-4b59-bf28-7745b26f0f0aIt has been suggested I ask here as people here may have more knowledge about the Photos app?To summarise, when I write reports for my job I browse photographs in Windows 11 Photos app, when I see one I need to add, right click, copy and then paste it into Word. This is how I've done it for nearly 9 years without a problem, but in recent weeks/months this has resulte

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

Sorry to know that the issue persists. I suggest you to search for it in Search and pin it to Start Menu.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• Go to search and type Photo Moto app. Right-click on it to pin it to Start menu.
• Go to Search. Type Settings. Click on it open.
• Click on System. Click on Default apps. Then follow the instructions from the link below to set Photo Moto as default app for Photos.

1. Right click on the photo.

2. Click on open with

3. Click on choose default program.

4. Choose photo moto app from the list.

5. Check the check box set this program as default.
