  1. Copying from SSD to HDD starts normally and then slows to a crawl

I've been using a 6TB HDD WD Blue to backup files from my system, but starting a few weeks ago, when copying files from my SSD, the transfer would start off fast and then slow to a crawl, at times dropping to 0 bytes/s. I suspected the drive was dying, and replaced it with an 8TB HDD SeaGate BarraCuda.Sadly, the same thing is happening with the new drive. I can't think of any reason why this might be happening. I have more than one SSD, and it happens no matter which one I'm copying from, so I know it's not an issue with the source drive. Here are the relevant PC specs - I can't see any oth

    HDD to SSD

I don't understand why you changed the boot order in your BIOS.

When you image or clone an HDD, and restore the image or clone to an SSD, you've got an identical copy of your computer on a different hard drive. Nothing has changed, really. So the next step is to remove the HDD from your computer and replace it with the
SSD, then carry on as normal.

  3. Upgraded Windows Transfer from HDD to SSD

    Hi

My windows was upgraded from 8 to 10 on my laptop few years back. I was trying to get the HDD replaced with SSD. During the copy process, the technician said windows cannot be moved to SSD as it is an upgraded version from 8 to 10.

Kindly guide if there is a possibility to copy the windows to SSD ? If so, please suggest the steps.

Very slow copy Windows 10 SSD

I have a related problem...very slow copy from hard disk to USB devices..

starts off ok but slows to a crawl..

I don't think this is anything to do with antivirus ..

it seems to be some sort of caching or maybe indexing that windows is trying to do...

its very annoying .. seems to be far worse on multiple (5000+) small files
