    Copying multiple files to an external hard drive.


    I am running Windows 11 and I want to copy multiple folders containing multiple files from one external hard drive to another. Prior to my upgrading to Windows 11, I was able to perform this operation. As the following screen print shows: the copy process starts.The next screen print shows that the copying process beginning: and it seems to be working, After the previous screen popup appears, the process stops and nothing is copied. I am able to copy one folder at a time only. I have tried performing a CHKDSK on the receiving drive, but no errors were found. I tried to enable write cash

    External Hard Drive

    Hi John,

    We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

    • Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
    • Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.
    The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

    Unable to copy files from external hard drive to new laptop

    I had a toshiba laptop before and I have copied all my documents from it to my external hard drive.

    Now when trying to copy the files to my new laptop, it asks me for permission and doesn't let me copy the files.

    I have looked for a solution multiple times. Taken ownership of the file. Added my user to the list giving full access control and it still tells me that I don't have access to it and doesn't let me copy the files.

    Regarding copying of files in external drive from pc

    Hi,

    The message that appeared on your screen may have occurred due to the possible missing files if you'll try to copy it that way. We suggest that you follow these steps on how you can copy the file together with it's properties:

    • Right click on the application (Bully) and click Properties.
    • On the application properties window, under the Shortcut tab, click
      Open File Location.
    • The File Location window will open.
    • Select everything. Copy and paste it to the external drive.
    • The copying process may take a while depending on the type of files.
