Windows 10: Copying new files stuck at 83%

    Hey everyone. I got my free upgrade to Windows 10 and I tried installing it. But it got stuck at 24%, copying new files 83%. If anyone could help me I'd appreciate it. Thank you

    Windows 10 Update Stuck

    I was downloading the Windows 10 update on my windows 8.1 computer and I got stuck at 24% of install 83% of copying files. Any help?

    Sujata - why do you and your colleagues keep pointing people to that response? it is about a 44% stuck level, and SPECIFICALLY asks people who are stuck at other levels to post a NEW thread.

    My PC is stuck at 83% also, and I have had no useful responses to my question, the best being to do a fresh install losing my settings and files.

    Update stuck at 83% and settings 32%

    Surely there must be a way of finding out what it is stuck on?

    I am also stuck at the same point. Were you able to proceed further ? Now, it's more than 1 hour, it is at same point. - 25%, copying new files 84%.
