    CopyProfile on existing computer

I have a coworker setting up now computers and the boss wants her to leave the OEM OS on them. The only thing is, there are customizations that need to be a part of the default profile. I do the imaging here and use CopyProfile then capture the image. How can she do this on an existing system?

    Thanks.

    :)

  3. copying user profile or cloning a user account windows 10

I may be wrong, but Microsoft says version 1709 specifically doesn't work anymore using copyprofile=true in the answer file

Sysprepping an existing Windows 10 installation with /generalize switch (required to make CopyProfile = TRUE to work) is tricky if not impossible. It will be even trickier if the existing installation is an OEM version of Windows.

There are several issues. For the first, an OEM Windows has (can have) so many customizations in place in various answer files and such that even if you reset it, enter Audit Mode to customize and sysprep it with /generalize switch and CopyProfile set to TRUE in answer file, your own answer file and your customizations will in most cases be ignored.

Another issue is Windows 10 app provisioning.; Windows 10 provisions UWP apps in such a way that usually you can't use /generalize switch with Sysprep if you don't first remove all UWP apps.

I would completely forget the idea, explain it to boss and tell it can't be done.

My recommendation would be to simply create a custom deployment image and use it to deploy Windows on each PC. See this tutorial for instructions: Create media for automated unattended install of Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials

Another option is to create provisioning package and apply it to each new PC. See Windows Configuration Designer documentation: Windows Configuration Designer (Windows 10) | Microsoft Docs
