The copyto/moveto hack always worked, until I loaded windows 10. Even refreshing the install of the registry items, this still won't show up on my context menu.

  2. Easy copy/move/paste question for W10 Users

Drag & drop works differently if you do so between different partitions or the same partition. If you're unsure, always use the right mouse button to drag & drop instead of the left one. With the RMB you'll get a handy menu when you release from which you
can select whether you want to copy or move.

However I suggest you forget drag & drop entirely for the moment. Just do what people have always done going back to much, much before XP. Select your files/folders, right-click and cut or copy. Then go to the destination, right-click and paste. Or use the
Cut/Copy/Paste/CopyTo/MoveTo buttons in the new ribbon you'll see at the top of File Explorer (what used to be called Windows Explorer in XP).

Seriously, it's simple and none of these basic cut/copy/paste file management techniques have changed much (if at all) in decades.

    I second that.
Both the tutorials from Seven forums and Eight forums still work.
I used one of those only a few weeks ago after I did a Clean Install of Windows 10.

Worked for me just now on Win10 Pro, hadn't gotten around to doing it earlier but seems like it works as intended. My Win10 Home will be next.

  9. That's what I did. I've loaded the register files on many computers for years. It just disappeared. Do you think a reboot will make any difference.

    sussertown,

When you double clicked on the add .reg files to merge them, did you approve all prompts?

You normally do not need to do anything else to add them.

    Just wondering.......................
If you are running Win 10 Pro, wonder if by freak accident the option is disabled by local group policy.

Right, didn't have to do anything more on either Home or Pro.

    sussertown,

As a test, do the default "Move to" and "Copy to" in the ribbon like below work for you? The context menu uses the same process as these do.

  14. Suddenly, without a reboot, the items appeared on my context menu.
