Windows 10: Core Isolation Memory Integrity turned off

Good morning,I recently upgraded my Nitro 5 RAM and ran into a couple issues afterward that, long story short, led me to turning off the memory integrity which I now know was not the issue. The issue resolved as I discovered I had a bunch of outdated drivers, and the issue was unrelated to the RAM upgrade, but now I am unable to turn on the memory integrity again.When I click on it, it says the issue is a USB smart card reader driverThis somewhat makes sense because when I go to the manufacturer website, it looks like I have the driver for other Windows versions downloaded I am running Wind

Cannot Turn On Core Isolation Memory Integrity in Settings

From Tutorial -> Turn On or Off Core Isolation Memory Integrity in Windows 10 Windows 10 Tutorials

Not able to perform steps in Option 1
Under "Windows Defender Security Center", "Device Security" is not an option.
Winver reports Version 1709 (OS build 16299 402)
The processor is Intel I3
Virtualization is enabled in system BIOS.


Please advise.

 

Core Isolation- Memory Integrity

What is Memory Integrity in Core Isolation? Is it helpful to avoid malware, phishing, and ransomware? Is there any Performance drop when Memory Integrity is turned on? What is the percentage of performance drop? Does it affect battery life when memory integrity is turned on? Does it also increases CPU usage?

Please answer all my questions and give another information about Core Isolation- Memory Integrity regarding Battery life, CPU usage, RAM usage, and System stability,

core isolation was on for me without me doing a thing i think and i use kis. is vt-d and stuff enabled in your bios?
i do notice that i cannot scan a selected file with defender from right click context menu. it tells me something about it admin limiting access.

i didn't turn on memory integrity as i'm not sure what it does and i read here that you can't turn it off without going into registry

and somehow the firewall part says kis is handling the firewall, but under win def firewall bit the toggle is set as on. in control panel it says win def firewall off kis firewall on though. so i'll leave it as is

my mistake, maybe. i thought core isolation and the memory integrity are 2 separate things and that core isolation was on, since the gfx next to the words "core isolation" has a green tick on it and there's text saying "virtualisation-based security is running to protect the core parts of your device". too chicken still to touch memory integrity.
