    'notepad' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

    When I try to open notepad using the command prompt, the following line shows up:

    'notepad' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

    operable program or batch file.

    Regsrv32 is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file when trying to install a .dll file

    I am trying to install a .dll file. I copied the file into System32, ran cmd as admin, and tried going to both the System32 and SysWOW64 directories to enter the command: regsrv32 MSSTDFMT.dll and the return is: Regsrv32 is not recognized as an internal
    or external command, operable program or batch file.

    In our IT notes, it lets us know we need to run it under SysWOW64 for this particular .dll file.

    Any idea on how to troubleshoot this issue further?
