Windows 10: Correct Windows Hello PIN not working while trying to sign in on a different account on the...

On the Microsoft Store, I am trying to sign in to a different account to access things I have on that account. I have set up a PIN for that account, but when I try to use the PIN, they say it is wrong. Please help me. I am using Windows 11.

• How are you setting the PIN and Hello?
• Which build version of Windows is your PC running on?
• Were there any error codes or messages?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how to set up PIN.

• Open Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Click Sign-in options.
• Click the Add button for the PIN and set your PIN.
• Do the same for the Windows Hello.

Unable to setup Windows Hello, error: incorrect pin

May I know the complete error code or error message that you are receiving when you try to setup Windows Hello?

Do you have any other user account on the computer?

If yes, does Windows Hello work on that account?

If Windows Hello is not setup on other account, please setup it up and check if it works so that we can narrow down the issue for you.

I suggest to remove the pin and setup a new pin on the child account and check if it works with Windows Hello.

Please follow the steps below to remove and re-add the PIN:

• Press Windows logo key + I to open Settings.
  
• Select Accounts.
  
• Click on Sign-in options.
  
• Under PIN, remove the pin. There will be prompt to enter password, enter the password and removed the PIN.
  
• After the pin is removed, please click on
  Add to setup pin for the account.
  
• After setting up a new PIN, try to set up Windows Hello.

Windows Hello and Pin sign on

Hi I am having issues with windows hello and the pin creation. I have two scenarios both of which don't fully work.

I turned on my PC and windows hello which was working perfectly said I need to set up a pin. I could not add a pin, every time I went to nothing would happen so I followed steps to delete the contents of the NGC folder as other forum posts reccomended. I
can now set up a pin which works to sign in. However, when I try to set up windows hello it asks for the pin, which I enter, it makes a sound to say it is correct and then does absolutely nothing.

Alternatively, I can remove the pin and try setting up windows hello. This does start the facial recognition and then asks me to set up a pin which I enter and end the process. However, neither windows hello or the pin is set up next time I try to sign in.

Specs:

HP Envy

Windows version: 10.0.15063 Build 15063
