Windows 10: Corrupt bootres.dll

Hi,


I have recently been having issues with my computer and am hoping someone can provide me the advice on how to fix it.


I had posted previously but this has not resolved my problem.


My computer (running windows 10) was experiencing network issues the other day and after a restart won't get past the first black loading screen.


Automatic repair runs and fails.

From this I have tried system restore but that doesn't fix the issue.

I have also tried to reset the pc and keep my files. This freezes at about 26% and won't finish.


I have gone into safemode and on command prompt run the srt trail. This has told me that


Boot critical file c:\efi\microsoft\boot\resources\custom\bootres.dll is corrupt.


Following this I was told to run DISM from an installation media.

"Type (or copy and paste) the following commands and press Enter after each line:

dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
sfc /scannow"


"Should the issue persists or encountered an error, repeat the steps 1 to 4 and execute these commands instead:

bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd

bootrec.exe /fixmbr

bootrec.exe /fixboot"


I boot from a usb windows install and go to command prompt

When I enter the dism commands i get various error messages.

"error 50. Dism doesn't support servicing windows pe with the /online option"


When I try bootrec the rebuildbcd works and asks if i want to add windows.old.000\Windows to boot list

bootrec Fixmbr is successful.

bootrec Fixboot access is denied

Please can anyone help me fix this? I'm at a loss for what to do.

Corrupt DLL files

I keep getting a message about corrupt dll files (MSVCP110.dll is just one) when I try to open several apps. I have tried a number of the suggestions from the message boards but nothing works. I have reinstalled the programs to no avail. Any suggestions?

 

DLL Missing

The problem is, that the required DLL is not actually even listed there.
There are just dozens of download adware links from the top to the bottom.
