    Corrupt files leftover from an old Scansnap program. Unable to delete.


    I have over 110,000 weird files, some with dollar signs in front. Many are variations of an old "Scansnap Organizer" file containing a exclamation point at the beginning of the filename and a ".PDF" in the filename from an old Fujitsu Scansnap program, which was accidently deleted. I am unable to delete any of these files. Examples are the one listed above, and also the ones below.I did manage to send 110,000 files to my desktop under a file named ****, but still cannot delete these! Many are listed under Configuration files. I have already contacted Fujitsu for help but they say they have no

    Corrupted file RAR

    If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:
    • Open WinRAR application in your system.
    • Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
    • A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
    • Now click Open button.
    • Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
    • Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
    • Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
    • Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
    • WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.
    I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

    Unable to delete leftovers folder from previous windows install

    Hi,

    I'm unable to delete a folder getting the Folder Access Denied window. I have tried deleting by:

    rmdir /q /s LEFTOV~1

    but still get the error below:

    LEFTOV~1\COMMON~1\MICROS~1\DAO\dao360.dll - Access is denied.

    LEFTOV~1\COMMON~1\MICROS~1\ink\Alphabet.xml - Access is denied.

    LEFTOV~1\COMMON~1\MICROS~1\ink\ar-SA\tipresx.dll.mui - Access is denied.

    LEFTOV~1\COMMON~1\MICROS~1\ink\bg-BG\tipresx.dll.mui - Access is denied.

    LEFTOV~1\COMMON~1\MICROS~1\ink\Content.xml - Access is denied.

    LEFTOV~1\COMMON~1\MICROS~1\ink\cs-CZ\tipresx.dll.mui - Access is denied.

    there are a number of other subfolders, mainly all .DLLS or .XMLs

    I have tried taking ownership of the folder by running: takeown /f D:\Downloads\LEFTOV~1

    This does not help.

    I am open to suggestions please. Thanks

    Plz recomend program to recover deleted files.

    Let me try what you guys suggested, i am willing to pay for the program to get the files back.
