    Its simple as going to REGEDIT :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons and delete de 29 file, tadaaa *Smile

    Thank you thank you thank you.

    I had exactly the same problem as you. I had removed the shortcut icon using the latest WinAero Tweaker utility. I loaded the same utility and clicked on Restore Windows Default in Icons.

    Voila! Icons are back!!

    This issue was driving me absolutely nuts. Thank you again! *Smile
