  1. Corrupt SSD

A while back, I replaced the HDD in a Sony PS3 Slim with a 480GB SSD to try to speed it up. The system said it had to be formatted, so I formatted it. The formatting stalled at about 90% and now the SSD is corrupted.

I put it in an Inateck USB 3.0 drive enclosure and started troubleshooting.

In Disk Management, it shows up as Disk 5, and says it needs to be initialized. When I click on OK, the Virtual Disk Manager says: "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."

Using CMD with admin rights, I ran diskpart, list disks, select disk 5, then clean. I get the message that it has been successfully cleaned.

In Device Manager, it shows up as Disk 5. Under Policies, it is set up for Quick removal. In Disk Information under Volumes, it is listed as Disk 5, Type Unknown, Status Not Initialized, Partition style Not Applicable, Capacity 0MB, Unallocated space 0MB, Reserved space 0MB, and the Volumes box at the bottom is empty I had to click on Populate to get this information to show.

In Devices and Printers, it shows up as ASM1153E, and when moused over it says Status: Connected to USB 3.0

I've tried it in two different USB 3.0 ports which work fine with a Seagate USB 3.0 external HDD.

It is a new SSD with no information on it.

After all of that, I'm at a loss. Do you think it can be fixed?

    Thanks,

    Dave

    :)

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.

  3. Is my SSD Corrupted?

Flash the SSD drive Firmware to the latest version if there is an update

    Back-up your important folders

    Enable AHCI in BIOS

    Re-install Windows or your OS

Check to see if there are problems and if so then start an RMA and repeat the steps.

    Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:
    • Open WinRAR application in your system.
    • Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
    • A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
    • Now click Open button.
    • Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
    • Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
    • Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
    • Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
    • WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.
I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

    Thanks.
