    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. We understand the inconvenience caused and will assist you.

To assist you better, I would like to ask if you are using a Microsoft Account.

If you are using a Microsoft Account, suggest you to change it to a Local account and then again back to a Microsoft Account by following the steps below:

    1. Navigate to Start>>Settings>>Accounts.

    2. In the left pane, click on Your email and accounts.

    3. In the right pane, click on Sign in with a Local account instead and follow the prompts.

    4. Restart the system and login to the Local account.

    5. Follow steps 1 and 2.

    6. In the right pane, click on Sign in with a Microsoft account instead and follow the prompts.

Restart the system and check for status.

Hi, see the scaling options in this post:
Cortana stuck on before we get started, Ill need some info - Microsoft Community

Basically it seems you have to endeavour to shrink the display. What you need is off the available display area. (Not a problem I've had on a 15.6" laptop with no visual adjustments of that sort).

Note that uninstalling Cortana has consequences as per that article (above)
Caution: Uninstalling Cortana breaks the Windows 10 Start Menu and probably Search so don't use this if you use the native menu. You will not be able to get it working back easily.

WHS is right in principle about Cortana- it's easily offended, broken, rather useless compared to other tools, just a good indicator if sthg isn't right if it's not working...*chuckle
