Windows 10: Cortana doesn't work at all

Every time I say something to her I get a response of "Something's not right. Try again in a little bit". I tried "Play some music" and got a little excited when she said "OK playing your music..." but then "Something's not right." Anyone come across this? Thoughts on what to do?

I also have a similar problem. Some time after start, Cortana (and Search) stop working !!

The only solution is to kill the Cortana program in Task Manager, and then it works again...until it stops.

Very annyoing indeed!

We need a solution, many people are facing this issue (not only on this thread)

[EDIT] BTW; tried the solution from Sangeeta, it makes Cortana to "restart", but still unresolved, Cortana stops eventually, and need to be killed for restart....

I will be glad to help you with the issue you have with Cortana on your computer.

Please try the below step to fix .

• Open the Task manager. Here’s a tip: Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
  
• Click File > Run New Task.
• Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”
  
• Type Powershell.

Type the following in the Powershell prompt:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Wait for PowerShell to execute and complete the command. Ignore the few errors (in red color) that may pop up.
When it finishes, try hitting Start and hopefully it’ll start working.

I sort of found a solution. She's not getting through the Windows Firewall. I wonder if I can make an exception in the firewall for Cortana. You'd think this would be in there by default.
