  1. Cortana is completely missing from my computer and I can't figure it out.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro Ver1909 (osver18363.1016) and Cortana is completely missing. There are no settings references that allows me to enable it. If I do Win-S to open up search and type in Cortana a tab in the system settings called "Cortana-permissions*" show up, but when I open it it just takes me to the front page of the Windows settings. I also have a tab called "Cortana language settings*", but the same thing happens there. Just takes me to the settings app.

I have run several Powershell commands found on the Microsoft forums, but none of them works.

This has annoyed me to the extent where I actually ran a manual update and even willingly restarted my PC.

*I'm running Windows in Swedish, so I am translating here.

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

    • Check and verify if Cortana is activated?
    • Does Cortana search and gives any output/result on screen?
    • Is the Language and region settings set to valid value?
    • Check and verify if Cortana available in your region?

Cortana is completely missing from my computer and I can't figure it out.

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Cortana is completely missing from my computer and I can't figure it out. :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
