Windows 10: Cortana pops out automatically

I noticed a strange behavior for the last 20 days that cortana pops up automatically every day. I am not sure what to do.

To assist you with your concern, you may follow the steps provided below on how to fix Cortana that keeps popping up:

• Click Start Menu > Settings.
• Look for Devices > Mouse & touchpad.
• Click Additional mouse options. (This will open a new window that depends on your device.)
• Look for options that read "Three Finger Tap" or "Four Finger Tap".

Note: You need to make sure that these options are disabled as this is also a factor that triggers Cortana automatically.

You can also find the same options when you go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Synaptics Touchpad.
Just turn off the tap feature.

Appreciate the response. For the meantime, if Cortana is causing any inconvenience with you or your system, we suggest reverting back to the old 1607 update. Just follow the steps below:

• Open Settings window.
• Click Update and Security, Recovery.
• Select Get Started, under Go back.
  

This will put your system back to the old Windows build. Let us know if you need further assistance.

 

Cortana Notebook

In order to enable the Notebook icon in Cortana, I suggest you to check if you have enabled Cortana.

To enable Cortana, please follow the steps below:

• Go to Cortana.
• Go to Settings.
• Turn on “Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas, reminders, alerts”.
