Windows 10: Cortana says "I'm sorry, something went wrong. Try again in a little bit" even when action...

I use Cortana often for making alarms. Lately, when I ask for an alarm to be set, Cortana does it, but the error message "I'm sorry, something went wrong. Try again in a little bit" appears, instead of a confirmation of the alarm being made.


It's not anything serious, since the alarm is still made, but it is a little bit annoying seeing an error message when you know everything worked. If anybody knows how I could fix this, it would be well appreciated.

There's a bug in Cortana (maybe on Windows 10 May 2019 Update). Steps to reproduce:

1. Say "Hey Cortana, remind me to get something at 10 AM."

2. An error message says: "I'm sorry, something went wrong. Try again in a little bit."

This happens every time when saying "Hey Cortana, remind me to get something at 10 AM", even the reminder is successfully created. Open Calendar app or check Cortana reminders to see if the reminder is successfully created.

I understand you’re unable to use Cortana, Please follow below steps and check if it helps.



1. Turn Cortana off.

2. Hold Ctrl+shift and press Esc to open up Task Manager

3. Right-click Cortana in the list of background processes and click "End Task"

4. Go do the Cortana setup bits, putting in your name, activating required system things (indexing/location/etc), do the "Hey Cortana" bit so she recognizes how you say it.
Then Restart before asking anything.

Cortana - Something went wrong. Try again in a little bit.

Cortana does not take voice commands. When click on Cortana's microphone icon I get "Something went wrong. Try again in a little bit.".

What is strange that if on the same Notebook , someone else is logging with his MS account, Cortana works fine. So obviously there is nothing wrong with W10 installation (hardware, drivers, ...), but with my MS account. Even I am not from USA, all the locale are
set to US. Any hint?
