Windows 10: Cortana search box text can't be seen

Got a new Dell for the kids yesterday, during some unsupervised activity the kids got into all sorts of settings. Took me a while to reverse them and all was fine except one. If you type into the Cortana search box, the text can not be seen, white text on white background maybe? Anyway, can't figure it out, and I have restarted computer twice. Has not fixed it. Tried different themes, to no affect.

Is you keyboard working normally on other apps such as Notepad? If not, run the built in troubleshooter for your keyboard. Here are the steps:

• Type Troubleshoot in the Search box and press
  Enter.
• Look for and run the Keyboard troubleshooter.
• Follow the onscreen instructions.

Firefox Search Box Text

In previous versions of Firefox, I was able to find the option to disable the browser from showing previously entered text into a search or text box. For example, the User Name box on this forum, I type "O" and OrbitzXT pops up. Other text in other search boxes has been popping up as well. I am using Firefox 3.6, I've tried clearing histories and such and it still remembers text in the boxes. Any ideas how to disable this? I don't see any such option in Tools -> Options.

  Go to Cortana.

  Click on show search box.
  

Now check if you are able to find search box.
