Windows 10: Cortana wont turn off my computer anymore

Probably the only voice command i use with Cortana. Now she wont turn off my computer anymore "Im sorry I cant turn off this device." This worked for years. But recently cortona stopped working entirely until i signed into my microsoft account (why is this required now?) and also she wont turn off my computer. Bruh

Turning Cortana Back On

Before we proceed, I would like you to provide the information stated below:

• What happens when you try to turn it on?
• Do you get any error message when your trying to turn it on?
• Did you make any changes to your computer after you turned Cortana Off?

For now, I would suggest that follow the steps below and check if you are able to start Cortana.

• Go Settings, Time & Language, Speech, Speech, inking, & typing
  privacy settings.
• Get to know me - turns Cortana on

Cortana won't turn on

Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

What is the antivirus program on the computer?

What is the make and model of your computer?

Did you install the audio driver from the manufacturer website?

Did you make any changes to your computer's sound settings prior to this issue?

If Cortana doesn't recognize your Microphone, the issue could be because of incompatible sound drivers. I suggest you to download all the updates and check if it works.

To turn on location settings for Cortana, I suggest you to try these steps and check if it helps.

  Click on Start Button and type Location in the search.

  Open Location Privacy Settings.
  
• 
  Under the option "choose apps that can use your location" check if Cortana is turned on.
  
• 
  If not turn on and check if it helps.

Turning Cortana Back On

Thanks for your reply, it helped fix things. I discovered that my region is set to UK but I did not have English UK speech pack downloaded. All OK now
