Windows 10: Cortana working only via voice. How can I search by typing into the search bar?

I want Cortana to work in my search bar by typing not via voice. Its not working in the search bar

If you meant the Cortana search bar, review the suggested solutions on these threads:

• Can't type in Windows 10 search bar.
• Can't type anything in Win 10 Apps (Cortana, Search, Calculator, Feedback, etc.)

Cortana & Search bar not working

They stated their Cortana Search is not working, how are they supposed to be able to type anything? Even if the Cortana Search was working and you do type "settings" where does that take you? I never saw any Settings for Cortana and Search or are any, that
I know of anyway. Windows 10 HELP is MS Community or the Internet, like trying to find help in a Needle-in-a-haystack.

Any real input (something to chew on_food for thought) would be helpful.

We understand that you are unable to type in Cortana Search bar after a Windows Update. However, please reply with the details requested below:

• When you say, “unable to enter any text into the Cortana Search bar” what happens when you try to type something in the text bar?
  
• May I know which update was installed on the computer? To check go to
  Start >> Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> View update history.
  
• Which build version of Windows is installed on the computer? To check press
  Windows key + R, type winver and click on
  OK.
  

We would like to inform that with the latest update of Windows 10 i.e. Windows 10 1903, Cortana and Search bar are decoupled. Now, if you wish to speak with Cortana, you can click on the Cortana icon on the search bar and start talking. However, you
can still use the Search bar to type in a command.
