Windows 10: Cortana's little menu thing pops up when shortcut, (WIN+C) is on

there is nothing left to say, that is what happens. As soon as I turn, "Let Cortana listen for me when I press the windows logo + C" she just starts popping out of nowhere. there doesn't have to be any other noise either. idk please help me!

Win + C not activating cortana

the Win+C shortcut to launch Cortana in listening mode was recently changed to Win+Shift+C.

please let me know if it works for you

Further: If I drag the Cortana icon off the start menu to the desktop, that shortcut launches Cortana correctly.

I should add other shortcuts to universal apps on the Win 10 start menu work.

I would inform you that Windows + C will not open cortana. The only shortcuts which cortana uses are:

Win + Q = Cortana's main screen with interests and news

Win + S = Right into Cortana's search engine



I would suggest you to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

1. Go to Start menu and then click on Settings.

2. Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.

3. Select Add an Account.

4. Enter a user name and press Next.

5. Click on Finish.

6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

7. Check if issue persists.
