Windows 10: Could getting in trouble on Wikipedia be related to network issues?

I made a funny edit on wikipedia(won’t do it again) and it got reported and said some stuff about how my ip was warned. Now on my desktop(did edits on phone) Ethernet and wifi will not work because of invalid IP address. I troubleshooted for awhile and followed a bunch of steps. Is there a way these are related?

I would suggest you follow the steps below and see if this helps:

Method 1: Update Network Adapter.

Follow the steps to update the Network Adapter drivers:

• Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Expand the Network Adapter.
• Right-click on the Network Adapter and click on Properties.
• Go to Driver tab and select Update.
• Restart the computer and check.

Method 2: Reset TCP/IP.

Please follow the steps below:

1. On the Search bar type “cmd” and click
ctrl + shift + Enter to open the Elevated Command Prompt.

1. To Reset WINSOCK entries, type netsh winsock reset catalog and click Enter.


2. To Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack, type netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
and click Enter


3. To Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack, type netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
and click Enter

Also, we suggest trying to run the Network troubleshooter to help with your issue. To do that, follow the steps below:

• Type Network troubleshooter in the Cortana search box.
• Then select Identify and repair network problems.
• Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if it fixes the problem.

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.
