Windows 10: Couldn't unlock lock screen easily, was this related to software issues?

Yesterday Friday, Australian Eastern standard time from late morning to late afternoon, pressing Return or clicking the left mouse key on certain parts of the lock screen didn't bring up the PIN prompt like usual. Instead, you had to click on one of the text boxes advertising Game Pass. I don't know if the following, but the text box reappeared on different parts of the screen depending on where the mouse pointer was. Only after clicking on a text box would the PIN prompt appear, however, once unlocked, Edge would start up displaying a Game Pass ad.This was the lock screen yesterday and t

Do let us know if you are able to see any error message/ error code with locking the computer.

Let us try the below steps to unlock and check if it helps.

• I suggest you to restart the computer, try to unlock and check if the issue persists.
• Use On-screen keyboard to type in your password and check if it helps.

Click on the Ease of access on the lock screen at the right-bottom corner, turn on
On-screen keyboard to type the password.

I would suggest you to set the default pictures as the Lock Screen picture from the PC and check if it works or not.

Follow the steps below:

• In start type "settings" and press enter.
• Select Personalize
• From the left click on "Lock screen"
• Select the default picture and conform by preview.
