CPU 100% Before opening task manager and after opening it drops fast

Ive been trying to fix the problem for so long and cant find a solution online that works. I saw many threads about igxupdate but I cant find such thing on my pc. Ive scanned multiple times using windows security and malwarebytes and no threats are found. Is this really a malware or is it my pc that is faulty? This is getting very frustrating and I hope someone can help me solve my problem soon.

    :)

CPU is 100% immediately upon opening task manager, quickly drops down to a constant <5% after a few seconds.

I'm just wondering what might be happening here, because when I open task manager, there is a large spike that immediately drops after a second or two.

    Is

my CPU actually maxed out at 100% while task manager isn't open or is the reading just false?

  3. Opening Task Manager Changes CPU Usage from 100% -> Normal (Windows 10). [SOLVED]

    >>> But that still doesn't explain why the processor is running at 100% before I open it.

well if task manager is CLOSED, how do you know it is at 100% ???

Then you OPEN it, and it instantly drops from 100% to normal 5%.

    HUH ???

That makes no sense. And opening Task Manager is not going to drop processor usage from 100% to normal just because Task Manager is now open.

The only way tis is possible, is if Task manager is corrupt. But I have never seen such a Thing on Thousands of PC's in 20 years.

CPU 100% Before opening task manager and after opening it drops fast

Windows 10 100% CPU unless task manager is open?

The original poster is correct, unless my case is a total coincidence, which I doubt. The same thing happens to me very frequently when my notebook (a Lenovo Ideapad 710S) is on AC power. You can tell the CPU is really at 100% because of the fan noise!
It drones on and on, until I open task manager to see what's eating all my CPU. At that point, CPU drops to [approximately] zero, and within a minute the fan turns off. Close task manager, walk away, and sooner or later, the process repeats.

I have seen plenty of complaints to this effect, so I know I'm not alone. The OP's question remains unanswered, and I would appreciate an explanation.
