  1. CPU approval for Windows 11

I have looked through all the CPU requirements, which my CPU - IntelCore i7-7700HQ meets, however it is not on the approved list, is there a way to submit it for possible approval? I know a few 7th gen CPUs are approved, but this one is not and it seems weird, as it meets all requirements an is widely used.If Windows 10 wont be supported as of October next year I fear a lot of the programs I need for work wont work propperly and I dont have money to buy a new laptop, as CPU can not be changed for better one in laptops... This whole "your CPU needs to be on the approved list of CPUs, or it wont

    :)

  2. Windows 11 not accepting my Athalon 3000G processor which is an approved cpu

I upgraded my motherboard, CPU and memory to meet the requirements based on Windows 11 approved list yet windows 10, PC Health Check and installing manually per Microsoft supports suggestions doesn't recognize my AMD Athlon 3000G processor as an approved CPU. Has Microsoft provided a fix for this yet? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  3. Windows 11 not accepting my Athalon 3000G processor which is an approved cpu

thank you for this suggestion but it didn't work. It's as if the CPU isn't listed in the approved CPU's list the software uses to determine what's approved and what isn't.

    CPU approval for Windows 11

    Windows 11 Approved processor list

    Hi

I was just wondering if anyone knows what the rules are for being on the 'Approved List' of processors to download Windows 11 via Windows Update.

According to Microsoft, the minimum requirements are:

    - 1 Ghz

    - 4GB RAM

    - 2 cores

    - being on approved list of CPUs

    My laptop easily meets this:

    -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4712HQ CPU 2.30Ghz

    -4 cores

    - 8 logical processors

    - i7-4712HW 2.3ghz

    - 16 GB RAM

    But because

    - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4712HQ CPU 2.30Ghz

isn't on the 'approved list' I can't download it via Windows update. I know there are various registry changes you can make that apparently bypass this check, but is there a real technical reason for excluding some Intel Core i7 processors or is it a bug? I can't see why my laptop can't run Windows 11?!!

    Thanks

    Pete
