    I'm about to reinstall Windows which is not something I'd rather to so I'm coming here to see if people on the OS side of things might have a few ideas on what might be wrong.


    I'm currently looking through the event log to see if there is something wrong, it's very apparent that there is since there are almost 75k events logged, almost all of which appear to have started on the 6th of this month.

    Strollin: I understand your suggestion, but that means I'll have to re-install all my sofftware etc. again. This is not an enticing thought at all.

    LCDR: I tried the old activation code I used before - it is the same on you posted.

    I tried the steps listed at the WinAero site. Last one failed because it said the server could not be located. But I did get the Jan 20, 2016 date back. So that's something.

    • Are you referring to Caps Lock Notifications?


    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.


    • Press Windows Key

    • Type Settings

    • Click on Ease of
      access

    • Select Hear a tone When you press Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock status as
      ON
