    SIR I HAVE CORE I7 7TH GEN LAPTOP DELL PRECISION 5520. MY CPU CLOCK SOMETIMES SHOWS 0.78 PERFORMACE BUT IT SHOULD BE ON 2.90 . SOMETIMES IT DROPS ON 0.78 GHZ PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME. I AM TIRED OF CLEAN INSTALLING OF WINDOWS AND UPDATING DRIVIERS TO FIX THIS ISSUE

    Sadly none of these steps helped me CPU CLOCK IS GOING TO 0.78 :( CPU Clock Rate still stays at highest level all the time.

    CPU Clock Speed Problems

    Welcome to the Forum

    When in high load the CPU can get at high temperatures and then the clock is lowered to protect the CPU from damage.
    My suggestion is to use Open Hardware monitor. Doesn't need to be installed. Expand to a folder and run the exe file. Under options you can set to run on startup.
