Windows 10: CPU immed. overheats @ 75c upon bootup - Win11 - MSI MAG Z590 TOMAHAWK WIFI - 11th Gen...

MAG Z590 TOMAHAWK WIFI - 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K - Windows 11 Pro Release PreviewCooler Master tower cooler w/2 fans and 3 front case fans.Since this happens also in safe mode it's hard to try and work on it because the temp. spikes immed.Thankfully I had the keyboard set to flash if CPU overheating detected.The BIOS is at all defaults using the built in button where the board ext. connectors are.This is basically a new, clean, install of Win 11.Windows Search Index is usually the cause but not always.Under Windows 10, after I built this desktop, it ran 2 months without this happening.

Is there a true PCI 4.0 motherboard for Intel's Gen 11 cpu's?

All you have to do is look at the Z590 motherboards supporting them. Here's ASUS' ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming WiFi 6E board's specs. Check "Storage" under "Tech Specs" *Wink

Edit: Intel strategist claims PCIe 4.0 SSDs will be faster on 11th gen CPUs than AMD

 

Various BSODs all hinting towards drivers?

The installed RAM was not seen on the QVL.

See if you can find RAM on the Qualified Vendor List (QVL) for testing:
