Windows 10: CPU limiting

Hi.


I have a laptop with an Intel Core i5 4200M that runs at 2.5 GHz.


The LCD broke a few days ago and so I'm using an external monitor and the laptop is basically a desktop for now. Since it stays in the same place, instead of charging and discharging the battery the whole day, I leave it plugged in and removed the battery.


The problem I'm having is that whenever I remove the battery, but still leaving it plugged in, the cpu gets limited to 800 MHz.


If I plug in the battery, the cpu goes back to normal, turbostepping to 3.00 GHz even. If I remove it again, it gets limited to 800 MHz again. If I plug in the battery and disconnect the charger, it acts normal. The problem only happens if the laptop is plugged in without the battery.


How can I stop this? I really want to avoid using the battery now, there's no point in using it.
