Discus and support CPU locks up when playing a media file Windows 10 in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; My problem is that my performance statesp-states of my cpu gets locked up in p2 states whenever 1. playing a media through windows 10 media player...     CPU locks up when playing a media file Windows 10


    My problem is that my performance statesp-states of my cpu gets locked up in p2 states whenever

    1. playing a media through windows 10 media player other media programs do not have any effects on clock speed

    2. playing a video on youtube

    3. going into settings related to video playingmedia


    cpu runs perfectly fine before having done any of those three options listed above. But when having done any of options above, cpu locks to p2 states and cpu clock speed remain in low frequency and won't increase but only decrease when idle. No matter what I do the p-states stays on 2. Even after closing the video file, closing youtube and closing the settings, the CPU still stays at low frequency and won't changeor speed up.


    I have tried editing advanced settings in power settings and have set "optimize video quality" for media settings and "100%" for minimum and maximum processor state.



    Please provide me any solutions to disable being stuck at one p-state only or any options that I can edit to disable the change in p-states.

    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Faulty Windows Media Player

    Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

    It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

    A player that can play RMVB files?

    All I have is windows media player 10, and it doesn't recognize the file type. I was wondering what kind of FREE software I need in order to play RMVB files. I haven't tried any of the other players as I am reluctant because I've had bad experiences with them in the past.
