  1. CPU Maxing out for no reason

My cpu is mostly always maxing out for no reason. When ever I close a high usage program, another program began to use up cpu usage and this happens to every program I close. It's as if my cpu is trying to find any way to max out to 100%. It slows down my pc a lot and I got things to do.

    :)

    CPU running at max frequency

To lead off, nothing on my system is overclocked and the cpu has a min process state of 20%. So I unplugged my PC the other day to clean up around it and have had nothing but issues since getting it back together. Outside of an issue with my wifi adapter that fixed itself, my cpu has been running at max frequency for no reason. Whenever I'm doing something that isn't a heavy load it frequently hits max and throttles which causes everything to stutter for a few seconds.

  3. how to remove max cpu limit

You have high performance mode set in Windows power options? Right click Windows start button > Power Options > additional power settings link on right side. Select the high performance choice or select any and/or choose change plan settings then change advanced and find the CPU max and min and set both to 100%.

If the power option is maxed out and its still doing it then for some reason the CPU is being limited possibly from the BIOS, maybe something else.

Overclock cpu max frequency constantly changing in task manager

    Hi,

I'm overclocking my Intel 8700k to 5Ghz and every time I check the current frequency in task manager the max is constantly changing. I have high-performance power settings on windows enabled and I have also disabled CPU state and Intel SpeedStep in the BIOS.
I also noticed that when using other tools to display my GPU and CPU performance they show my CPU max frequency is exactly 5Ghz, why does Task Manager constantly display a constantly changing frequency?

    Any suggestions?

    Much appreciated
