I am curious if anyone is running an FX-8370 with windows 10 and noticed a performance increase? Same goes for Intel, I would be curious if the extra cost is worth it after windows 10.

    :)

is there any solution to decrease the cpu performance???because my laptop running hot in just daily activities!!!(cpu is:7700hq)

notice:i already put the laptop power to power saving

    Cpu performance on windows 10

    AMD Phenom™ II Processors

Shows the 1090t can clock up on all 6 cores, where the 1550t is only 3 tc.

The other thing I should have mentioned before is that win10 also likes to

run my old gtx 550ti at near max frequencies also, where the idle lowest

    clock is 50 mhz.

When I start evga precision x it clock is on the on either the second or third level

with the fan running very slow and temps in the high range.

After precision x gets going it drops core and fan speed down to my settings.

This has been an issue with win10, nvidia and AMD drivers from the insider program.

I may disable 2 cores and see what the results are.

I have seen some minor performance gains as far as processor is concerned but nothing more than at the level of statistical error. It's probably more of a function of W10 being clean as opposed to few years of continuous use of W8/8.1.
Real goodies are yet to come, DirectX 12 when new drivers and applications/games start using it properly. Some tests show 50 - 100% or more of game performance gain.

I'm anxious to try an hybrid Cross-SLI setup with DX12... I'm thinking about pairing a GTX970 with my Radeon 280X...

If that really works you'd get heck of a setup, Combining Mantle and Physics wit DX12 should give awesome performance and/or game compatibility.

The big difference you'll see with CPU is power savings.

In the past (Windows 7), if you have 4 cores and were using 25% CPU, they would run 6% on all 4 CPUs. Now, they run 100% on one core and 0% on the other 3 and turn off the power to them, saving you 75% of your heat and battery life.

Also, while the CPU won't run faster, Windows 10 uses a lot less system memory at startup than Windows 7 or 8. So, old machines with low memory will run faster because they will swap to the hard drive less frequently. This is very noticeable on my 4GB laptop. Even though I have an SSD, Windows 7 would noticeably hang sometimes when switching apps. I have almost never seen that on Windows 10.

    CPU Performance

There's a lot of wasted cycles in procesors, that's how single cores can do multitasking and how hyper-threading works, using processor while waiting for data.
Still waiting for some real life tests for Dx12 to see what would happen on my computer.
