Windows 10: cpu sits at nearly 100% usage randomly and computer becomes delayed and slow because of it

Basic specs:AMD Ryzen 5 16 GB of rammy computer is rarely not at 80%+ cpu and 60%+ memory even if literally nothing is open and I just turned it on after shutting it down over night.Random windows operations such as WMI Provider HostAntimalware Executable, wsappx, Widgets, Service Host: Windows Manager & more service host system stuff, Feedback Hub, System McAfee have tried again and again to uninstall this but I cant, Microsoft Office Click-to-Run, Windows Widgets, HP Insights Analytics, Start, Windows Explorer, wusvcs, Settings, Randomly decide to take up half of my cpu and a good amou

100% CPU usage.


Hi all. I sometimes use Xilisoft audio convertor and it puts CPU usage through the roof, sits on 100%. I do not use other progs to compare this to. Consequently PC slows down sometimes freezes, web slow to load etc. Is this normal. New install of win 10, 2 months ago. 8 gig ram. What do you think. CPU is about 3 years old. All other components have been replaced in a short period. Thanks.

 

Taskhostw.exe CPU usage 100% slowing everything down

I hope someone is able to help as I have spent the entire weekend driving myself insane trying to fix this.

My laptop started running slow and freezing. I use it for writing and emails, no gaming or anything exciting.

It turns out my CPU usage is at 100% due to taskhostw.exe.

I have tried everything suggested online. The SFC scan, system restore etc. I tried seeing if I could close things in task manager but there are 90 processes running and I have no idea what is was. None seem to be using CPU according to that though. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

  What makes you think that system is running slow? Is it when you are trying to run application?
  
• 
  Did you install any third party security application?
  

From the screenshot that you have provided, I understood that it’s not the issue with the disk usage. The slowness might be due to the memory usage.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to run maintenance task and check if it helps.

  Press Windows key + X from the desktop.

  Select Control panel and Select System and Security.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshoot common computer problems under System and maintenance.

  Now Run maintenance task under
  System and security.
