Windows 10: CPU temp very high on low load

I've noticed since a few days ago, my PC fans have been running very hard. I thought it was the settings on BIOS, so I checked and the settings were still the same. However, once I dug deeper and used RealTemps to check the temps of my CPU, turns out it's my CPU that is running hot all the time. It didn't used to be like this, even a week ago. As a matter of fact, it didn't run like this in Safe Boot. I was just trying it out to see if Safe Boot does something, and it turns out the fan runs normally like it would be used to run. That's what made me think this is a software problem. But since I

Low Ram - High CPU Load?

Nah no leak, I did some research and it is complicated. But I don't understand why it's overheating. I might have to give it a knock or turn it upside down. Maybe the liquid stuck on one side. I'm looking to replace it with a fan heatsink cooler but not sure if it's necessary.

The pump is making a noise so my guess is it's related to that.

Does anything look unusual? I opened the case up, knocked on the pumps a little, turned the case upside down, left side up and all around, in hopes to maybe get the liquid flowing in case it was stuck somewhere. It's been going good so far, usually when I open up chrome the temps start to go.

The temperatures where fluctuating higher initially but eventually it started to hang around 40's as shown in pictures. I have some more pictures from initial start up when it was running hotter if you would like those.

Edit: I can hear little sounds like as if cooking butter on a stove from the pumps.

So far so good, going to run a game, see what happens, hopefully might just need to re apply thermal paste, worst case might need to a new cpu cooler.

My temps definitely spike up to around 50-55 when I launch a program. I dont think thats normal, temps should stay pretty stable right?

Low Ram - High CPU Load?

If there is high memory pressure there will be a higher level of hard page faults. Disk access consumes CPU time, but not much. But there is a factor that offsets this. A high level of page faults would mean the CPU is doing a lot of waiting instead of running your program. In general I would expect a system with low RAM to have lower CPU usage, not higher.

If you are having concerns about high temperatures you need to look elsewhere.

But 4GB RAM is adequate only for light duty games.

 

Underclock cpu to achieve low temps

Just out of curiosity, why do you think 51°C is too high? My i7 laptop typically runs at about 50°C...





...and peaks at 85°C when working hard, but that's well under its Tj.Max of 100°C so I'm not concerned.
